We offer lectures and exercises conducted by experienced specialists. We provide training for individuals as well as organized groups. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Our Offer and Scope of Topics

We have divided the Hot Work HSE course into two parts - theoretical and practical. The lectures will cover topics such as:
  • Characteristics of hot work tasks,
  • Possible fire hazards and reasons for their occurrence in hot work tasks,
  • Fire prevention measures in the workplace,
  • Types of firefighting equipment,
  • Procedures in case of a fire outbreak,
  • Employee rights and responsibilities, legal regulations in Scandinavian countries.
During the second part of the course, participants will have the opportunity to test their newly acquired skills in practice, following the guidance of trainers. They will learn how to operate fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment, which can be invaluable in case of a fire emergency.

Final Exam

After completing the course, each participant takes a final exam, consisting of both theoretical and practical parts. Upon obtaining the required number of points in the written test, the trainee can proceed to the practical part, which involves performing tasks related to fire suppression and handling firefighting equipment. If the participant passes both parts, they receive a Hot Work certificate (in the form of a plastic card or mobile app) and are registered with the Norwegian Fire Protection Association. This certificate is valid for 5 years in Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Denmark.
We provide the following for every training participant:
  • Lectures and exercises conducted by qualified and experienced training staff,
  • Free training materials,
  • Assistance with administrative matters,
  • A friendly atmosphere,
  • Coffee, tea.

Training Objective

The main goal of our HSE training is to increase the awareness of manual workers about the fire hazards in their workplace and to familiarize them with the legal regulations in Scandinavia regarding hot work tasks.

The course is also suitable for those who oversee the safe execution of such tasks and anyone who comes into contact with equipment that can cause a fire.

What Is Hot Work?

Hot Work includes tasks where equipment generating sparks, hot air, or open flames is used. These are considered fire hazardous as they can sometimes cause a fire. It includes activities such as grinding, welding, thermal cutting, and work with blowtorches and gas burners. Due to the potential fire hazard, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark have introduced regulations for such tasks. Every worker performing hot work tasks in these countries must possess a Hot Work certificate confirming completion of the full Hot Work training. Workers in the following roles are among those who need a Hot Work certificate:
  • Mechanics,
  • Plumbers,
  • Electricians,
  • Welders,
  • Sheet metal workers,
  • Grinders,
  • Roofers,
  • Painters,
  • And other construction workers.
