First aid in emergencies - international standards

The goal of the training offered by ERGON is to professionally prepare employees to provide first aid during sudden health or life-threatening emergencies. We aim for participants to acquire the necessary skills to respond at the scene or in the workplace. Each participant will be required to perform basic exercises:
  • how to correctly assess the vital signs of the injured person,
  • how to call for medical assistance,
  • how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
We conduct courses in accordance with international standards – following EU and ILCOR guidelines.

COMMON THREATS

In everyday life and in various job positions, people may encounter direct threats to life or health. It is the duty of every individual to know how to act in response to frequent, listed dangers:
  • bruising,
  • cutting,
  • fractures,
  • dislocations,
  • bleeding,
  • fainting,
  • spinal injury,
  • electric shock,
  • burns,
  • foreign body in the airway,
  • loss of consciousness.
Instructors in the first aid pre-medical course will teach you how to handle such situations, what actions to take, and what not to do.

TOPICS OF LECTURES AND EXERCISES

  • methods of providing first aid and ensuring one's own safety,
  • hazards in land transport,
  • securing the scene of an accident or incident,
  • assessment of the injured person's condition using the 'ABC' method,
  • notifying emergency services and cooperating with rescuers,
  • dealing with common threats,
  • use of external defibrillators,
  • familiarization with the contents of first aid kits at the workplace and in vehicles,
  • multiple and mass accidents,
  • evacuation from a building in case of danger.

OUR METHODOLOGY

At ERGON, during the training sessions, we use pre-prepared lecture materials – comprehensive multimedia presentations and demonstrations. Additionally, these are supported by exercises on mannequins, phantoms, and medical equipment. Individual training options are also available.

BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS

Our training program provides knowledge and life-saving skills for adults and children. It helps overcome fear and stress associated with sudden accidents at home, on the street, or at work. Medical simulations will allow you to become familiar with the sight of injured individuals. The acquired competencies comply with the current guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).
