Passenger, Passenger and Goods, and Electrically Driven Goods Lifts

Electric Drive for Passenger Elevators Proper exploitation of devices requires regular maintenance reviews. We invite you to familiarize yourself with our offer, which includes maintenance services for passenger and freight elevators with electric drives.

Characteristics of Elevators with Electric Drive

Without a Machine Room

Electric elevators without a machine room are used in medium and high residential, office, hospital, commercial buildings, etc. This device has an electric drive, so no separate machine room is required.

Specifics of electric elevators without a machine room:

  • No need for an additional machine room
  • Lifting over 45 meters
  • High efficiency (up to 180 starts per hour)
  • Smooth start and stop
  • Suitable for medium and high traffic intensity

With an Upper Machine Room

Also used in medium and high residential, commercial, office, hospital, and other buildings. For their installation, an additional room above the elevator shaft is required.

Specifics of electric elevators with an upper machine room:

  • High efficiency - up to 180 starts per hour
  • Easier service
  • Lower service cost
  • Wide range of nominal speeds (0.62÷2.5 m/s and more)
  • Easy start and stop
  • Cost-effective

Freight Elevators with Electric Drive

Used for transporting large items. They can even accommodate a forklift with a pallet. Such elevators are used in warehouses, stores, factories, bakeries, depots, etc. There are also small freight elevators for transporting documents, books, food products, etc., suitable for use in banks, offices, libraries, or restaurants.

Specifics of electric freight elevators:

  • Improves work efficiency and saves time
  • Simple construction
  • Wide range of elevator dimensions
  • No need for a machine room
  • Shallow or no pit required
  • Own steel shaft structure

Construction of Passenger and Freight Elevators with Electric Drive

The operation of elevators involves a cabin moving on ropes, which are driven by a motor. The construction of elevators may vary, but their functioning scheme remains the same. The cabin moves vertically in a special shaft, on stabilizing guides. Steel ropes are attached to it. At the end of the ropes, there is a counterweight, also moving in the elevator shaft. The ropes wind around a friction wheel that allows the ropes to move. The entire construction operates thanks to an electric drive. In the construction of passenger and freight elevators, safety features are significant. Speed limiters regulate the speed, cabin and counterweight catchers act like friction brakes, clamping onto the guides. In the elevator shaft, there are also buffers for the cabin and counterweight that brake them at the right moments. In some types of elevators, special flexible belts with steel rope cords or drum devices acting like winches are installed.

Maintenance Services

We provide maintenance services for all types of elevators, including passenger and freight elevators with electric drives and more. We work with equipment from manufacturers such as Schindler, Otis, Microlift, IGV, GMV Poland, and AUTIVOX. Inspections are carried out in accordance with the maintenance instructions of the devices and the regulations of the Office of Technical Inspection. Our qualified and experienced employees handle this. Maintenance of passenger and freight elevators with electric drive includes:
  • Assessing the technical condition of the device,
  • Checking the wear of individual parts,
  • Checking the condition of ropes, actuators, work of the slack adjuster, brake shoes, suspension of ropes in the machine room, on the cabin and counterweight, sheaves, friction wheel, oil in bearings, guides, gripping device,
  • Checking the operation of control drive cassettes, call and dispatch buttons,
  • Checking the buffers in the pit,
  • Checking the condition of the transport cabin equipment.
We offer maintenance services, but we also service passenger and freight elevators!

Questions and Answers

How much does an elevator (lifting device) maintenance worker earn?

According to data from January 2022, the average monthly salary of a lifting device maintenance worker is 5100 PLN gross. Half of the maintenance workers earn between 4120 and 6530 PLN gross per month.

How often should elevators be inspected?

According to regulations, every elevator, whether passenger or freight, should be subjected to technical inspections at least once a month. During such an inspection, basic tasks belonging to the duties of the maintenance worker should be performed, such as lubrication or adjustment of elements. A general overhaul of the device should be conducted at least once a year.
