RESURS - Close Transport Devices
Welcome to the RESURSU Training on Close Transport Devices. Due to legal requirements, a significant majority of close transport devices owned by specific companies should have their so-called "resurs" calculated. This calculation includes, among other things, the reconstruction of the machine's operating history. It primarily focuses on determining the period of useful life of the equipment, expressed in appropriate units, during which the machine's full functionality and the safety of its technical operator are guaranteed.
Estimated or precise resurs values apply to all close transport devices subject to supervision by the Technical Inspection Authority. Our facility organizes comprehensive UTB maintenance training, during which participants can learn about the reasons for determining resurs, the methodology for calculating it, and the necessary requirements for becoming an expert in equipment functionality analysis.
As part of the course, we provide:
- An interesting training program;
- Qualified and experienced teaching staff.
The training offers participants perspectives such as:
- The opportunity to quickly find well-paying employment;
- The opportunity to obtain UDT qualifications recognized throughout Poland and beyond.
What is resurs? - definition
According to the legal regulation of the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology regarding the conditions of technical supervision in the field of modernization, operation, and repair of close transport devices, announced on October 30, 2018, the commonly accepted definition of resurs is as follows:
"Resurs - limit parameters used to assess and identify the technical condition, determined based on the number of work cycles and the condition of UTB loading during the assumed period of operation, taking into account the actual conditions of use.
Based on the mentioned regulation, users of close transport devices are legally obliged to reconstruct the history of the device's operation under the supervision of the Technical Inspection Authority, determining resurs and making a complete assessment of its technical condition. Resurs is, therefore, the period of useful life of a specific close transport device during which the operator of the machine can use it effectively and safely.
How to correctly calculate device wear and tear?
According to the available legal requirements of the mentioned regulation, to correctly calculate the resurs of close transport devices, we should base it on specific data.
These data include, among others:
- Current conditions, quantity, and duration of work cycles performed;
- Lifting height;
- Information about the carried load.
The legal obligation to calculate resurs for devices under the Technical Inspection Authority's supervision raises many controversies and doubts among UTB users. Unfortunately, technical calculations that reconstruct the operating history of equipment often lack references to the number of cycles or load conditions. Therefore, it should be remembered that this is a responsible task that requires great precision.
UDT Resurs - why is it essential?
UTB devices are mechanical machines that often operate under heavy loads and in challenging conditions, which results in wear and tear, breakdowns, and the need for regular maintenance. Information that a product will be worn out after a specific number of hours and that its further use will no longer guarantee full safety is not a favorable marketing move for UTB manufacturers. Therefore, we are usually not aware of how long we can effectively use specific equipment. Resurs comes to the rescue, providing information about the current level of device wear and tear.
Who determines the degree of resurs?
The obligation to determine resurs rests with the person operating the machine each time. The regulations do not specify the specific competencies required for the person making the calculations, but undoubtedly, the employee responsible for resurs must be responsible, accurate, diligent, and meticulous, as the correctness of their calculations will determine the safety of the operators. In addition, the employee in this position should have experience in maintenance, allowing them to correctly assess the level of machine wear and tear.
When does a machine reach resurs? - UDT guidelines
Since manufacturers rarely determine the expected lifespan of close transport devices on their own, the Technical Inspection Authority assumes that the period after which a device must undergo a special inspection is up to 10 years of use. This inspection will determine whether the equipment can continue to be used, as it involves a detailed analysis of the machine's technical condition (including checking all parameters) and the issuance of post-inspection recommendations. When all necessary repairs, replacements, and modernization changes outlined in the protocol have been completed, resurs calculation begins anew, as in the case of completely new equipment.
Training on Correct Resurs Calculation
As long-time specialists in UDT regulations and UTB equipment, we offer training on correctly calculating resurs. Our training instructors are experienced maintenance professionals and UDT-certified instructors with extensive theoretical and practical knowledge in the topics covered during the course. Our experts explain in a clear and accessible manner how to effectively calculate resurs, avoiding common errors, and provide guidance on preparing documentation in accordance with UDT regulations.
Detailed curriculum
- Analysis of standards useful for calculating resurs, including:
- SO 9927 –1;
- PN-ISO 4301;
- PN-ISO 4306;
- ISO 12482-2014;
- Changes in Technical Inspection Authority regulations.
- Calculation of the projected service life of structures, including:
- Analysis of the formula for potential achievement of the projected life of the structure and mechanism;
- Examples of load-bearing structures determined by the number of work cycles.
- Criteria for assessing special inspections.
- Calculating resurs for selected devices and machines.
- Essential concepts and activities during special inspections.
- Supervision by the Labor Inspectorate and Technical Inspection Authority.
- Calculating resurs based on basic equipment parameters.
- Recording equipment operating conditions, including:
- Recording in a logbook (using counters);
- Recording with instruments;
- Recording based on production information;
- Recording in the absence of equipment history information;
- Recording when information about operating conditions is incomplete.
- Practical exercises, including preparation for independently determining the service life of load-bearing structures and individual machine and equipment mechanisms.
Course Participation Requirements
To participate in our training, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old;
- Have a statement of health confirming your ability to work, issued by a qualified physician authorized to conduct such examinations;
- Have at least a basic education.
The main goal of the course is to prepare participants for independently reconstructing the operating history of close transport devices and calculating all limit parameters used to assess and identify the technical condition of machines. Participants will have the opportunity to gain or systematize knowledge about current regulations related to resurs. The course aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of current regulations related to legal aspects of UTB operation.
Organizational Assumptions
The training is intended for individuals who want to refresh or acquire knowledge about reconstructing the operating history of TB devices and calculating resurs for machines subject to technical supervision. After completing the course, an examination at the Technical Inspection Authority is planned, consisting of a theoretical and practical part. Classes are conducted in rooms equipped with didactic aids (such as electronic materials, diagrams, boards, presentations) to facilitate understanding of the topics. Our lecture halls meet occupational health and safety requirements. In addition, all participants will receive training materials related to the topics covered during the lectures.Contact us for more information!
