Cargo lifts
Goods hoists belong to the category of materials handling equipment used for loading and unloading goods using a winch, which is employed to move goods from one place to another. They often resemble ladders and are sometimes referred to as such. At times, they are called "skips," which can be confusing, as it may be mistaken for a nautical "slip" used at sea for launching ships. Goods hoists, also known as skips, are exclusively used in construction.
We can categorize these machines into two types:
- Rope-based goods hoists,
- Chain-based goods hoists.
Three fundamental requirements for future goods hoist operators:
- Familiarity with safety regulations,
- Awareness of potential workplace hazards,
- Adherence to regulations related to construction work.
- Knowledge and skills,
- A sense of responsibility and caution,
- Familiarity with the materials used in the construction of these machines,
- Appropriate certificates allowing for such work.
- All about the Technical Inspection Office (UDT) - its requirements and regulations related to machine operation,
- Exam requirements,
- Everything about the construction, operation, and functioning of goods hoists,
- Proper maintenance of goods hoists, assessing their technical condition,
- How to detect faults, repair them correctly, and prevent them in the future,
- Occupational safety regulations for working with goods hoists,
- Possible hazardous situations, how to handle them, and how to prevent them,
- You will have the opportunity to interact with experts and ask them about anything that is unclear to you.
- Learning to detect faults and repair them,
- Equipment maintenance,
- Operation, both in motion during typical work and in a stationary setting, to become fully acquainted with the capabilities of goods hoists,
- Working with experienced instructors who will demonstrate how to work with goods hoists safely and efficiently and will answer any questions from participants,
- Group work, which allows for better learning outcomes and increased teaching efficiency.
