Introduction – What is a Technological Dump Truck?

A technological dump truck is a specialized vehicle designed for transporting large quantities of bulk materials such as gravel, sand, rubble, or stone. They are most commonly found on construction sites, in quarries, open-pit mines, and in large industrial facilities.
Operating this equipment requires special licenses.

How does the technological dump truck operator course work? – step by step

1. Theoretical classes

In this part of the course, we cover:

• construction of a technological dump truck (chassis, drive, cab, hydraulic systems),
• types of dump trucks (rigid-frame, articulated, tracked),
• operating principles and maintenance,
• OHS regulations and operator responsibilities,
• legal regulations and requirements,
• emergency procedures,
• preparation for the state examination.

2. Practical classes

Under the supervision of an instructor, participants:

• perform daily technical inspections of the machine,
• learn smooth driving in various terrain conditions,
• practice safe loading and unloading,
• maneuver in confined spaces,
• complete examination tasks on the maneuvering yard.

Requirements for course enrollment

To join the course, you must:

• be at least 18 years old,
• have at least primary education,

Exam and license

The exam consists of a theoretical part (test) and a practical part (operating the dump truck on the maneuvering yard).
After passing it, you receive a personal license that:

• has no expiration date,
• is recognized throughout Poland,
• is accepted in many EU countries.
