Mobile wheeled platforms
Mobile elevating work platforms are classified as lifting equipment, known as cranes, used on construction sites and in industrial and service sectors. The main function of these devices is to move tools and workers vertically and horizontally. A mobile platform consists of a basket or gondola raised on a boom or tractor. These machines are designed to efficiently, effectively, and at low operating costs transport equipment and workers. Mobile elevating work platforms are very helpful for tasks such as:
Importantly, qualifications for suspended mobile elevating work platforms allow for working with both suspended and stationary platforms, and the same applies to mast platforms - having qualifications allows you to operate both mast and stationary platforms. But how to obtain these qualifications? You need to take an exam before the UDT (Office of Technical Inspection) committee, passing which guarantees you a certificate and permission to work with platforms (selected categories). However, before taking the exam, it's worth undergoing training, which our center offers. It consists of both theoretical and practical parts (the same way the exam is later taken). The theoretical part of the course covers the necessary knowledge needed for platform operators and includes:
- Building cleaning and maintenance,
- Installation of signs, billboards, and installations such as electrical systems,
- Inspections, checks, and repairs at heights,
- Landscape maintenance.
- Suspended mobile elevating work platforms - constructed with a basket/gondola suspended on load-bearing ropes and safety ropes connected to winches. Winches are installed directly on the platform or its structure. The whole assembly is attached to a track that is a permanent part of a building or roof.
- Mast mobile elevating work platforms - consist of one or two masts, a working platform, a chassis acting as a carriage, and a power unit. Masts for such platforms are usually made using truss structures. Another name is self-erecting platforms.
- Mobile self-propelled elevating work platforms - constructed with a working platform, chassis, and structure connected to the chassis. They are mounted on chassis that can be self-towed or have their own drive, as well as on vehicle chassis.
- Rail vehicle-mounted elevating work platforms - the crane is mounted on a rail vehicle. They are most commonly used for railway work, repairs, and maintenance of electrical installations.
- Scissor lifts - the structure of the lifting mechanism is designed to resemble scissors, resulting in vertical movement of the working platform,
- Telescopic lifts - the boom is constructed in the form of a telescopic mast,
- Articulating lifts - the boom is constructed in the form of an articulating mast,
- Articulating telescopic lifts - combining the functions of both articulated and telescopic booms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the types of mobile elevating work platforms?
According to the main classification, there are five types of mobile elevating work platforms: stationary, suspended, mast, mobile self-propelled, and rail vehicle-mounted platforms.
How long are the qualifications valid?
The validity of qualifications depends on the type of platform. For most platforms, such as stationary, suspended, mast, and rail vehicle-mounted, it's 10 years. Qualifications for mobile self-propelled platforms are valid for 5 years.
Is one training enough for all platforms?
No, you need to undergo separate training and obtain separate qualifications for each type of platform. Only qualifications for suspended and mast mobile elevating work platforms allow you to work with both types of devices and stationary platforms.
What kind of work is mobile elevating work platforms used for?
Mobile elevating work platforms are useful for assembly, maintenance, repair at heights, inspections, and building maintenance tasks.
