The IRATA Level 3 course is the highest certification level in the international IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) system. It is designed for experienced rope access technicians who want to take on supervisory responsibilities, lead complex rescue operations, plan and oversee rope access work, and ensure the overall safety of operations.
IRATA Level 3 covers not only advanced techniques, but also training in risk management, legal responsibilities, work planning, and documentation. It is intended for professionals aiming to become leaders in international rope access projects.
This course is intended for individuals who:
The training lasts 5 days and includes both practical training and an extensive theoretical component related to organizing and conducting rope access operations. Participants will learn, among other things:
✅ Advanced planning and organization of rope access work,
✅ Risk assessment and implementation of safety procedures,
✅ Rope team management and communication,
✅ Creating and verifying documentation (RAMS, rescue plans, permits to work),
✅ Equipment inspection and logbook management,
✅ Performing advanced rescue techniques – including multi-stage and critical scenarios,
✅ Understanding and applying IRATA ICOP and TACS guidelines.
The course concludes with a practical and theoretical examination conducted by an independent IRATA assessor. The exam also includes an assessment of team management and decision-making skills in emergency situations.
To take part in the IRATA Level 3 training, the participant must:
✅ International IRATA Level 3 certificate (valid for 3 years),
✅ Official IRATA ID card,
✅ Entry in the IRATA logbook,
✅ Personal identification number in the IRATA database,
✅ Authorization to conduct and supervise rope access work and rescue operations.
